Layout key numbers on IP KEM - Keyboard Expansion Module

Because I often forget the position of KEY 32 and KEY 44 on a KEM, here's the table:

Change the IP address of an AudioCodes MP-112 VoIP Gateway

One of the useful elements in an all-IP environment is an AudioCodes VoIP gateway. The problem with the thing is the IP address. If you want to access it, but you don't have the IP address available, you can change it by using an analog telephone.

- Connect the phone to FXS port 1
- Pick up the phone, and dial ***12345

- Dial 1# to change the IP address
- A voice will spell the current address partially.
- Press #
- The system asks to enter the new IP address
- Enter the new address, use * for a . (so 127*0*0*1 for example)
- The system repeats the IP address entered

To turn on DTMF on an ATA2 or analog port on an SRG 50

A parameter often forgotten is the DTMF capability of an ATA on an SRG-50. To turn this capability on:

In Nortel Element Manager:

* Click Telephony-Sets-Active Sets
* Go to the "Capabilities and Preferences" tab
* Look up the DN you want to configure
* At the bottom, on the "Capabilities" tab, make sure that "Receive short tones" is checked

Delete set on SRG 50

On the tab Capabilities & Preferences, tab IP Terminal Details, click Deregister DN

Analog ports on SRG 50

The patchpanel on the back of an SRG contains, besides the digital ports for ATA2s, 4 ports for analog sets. By default they get the name NOTUSED. If you have the latest firmware however, you can use them:

AS1 = 98113 = Port 0413
AS2 = 98114 = Port 0414
AS3 = 98115 = Port 0415
AS4 = 98116 = Port 0416

Restart IP phone and other interesting IP phone tricks

To reboot a i2002 or i2004:

mute - up - down - up - down - up - mute - 9 - rls

and then press the four buttons underneath the display.

Interesting things happen when you choose another digit than 9 ...
•0 key - Display Firmware hard version
•1 key - RAM check
•2 key - DTIC check
•3 key - EEPROM check
•4 key - Xmt, Rcv, Attenuation levels
•5 key - TCM loop back test, between i2004 and CE equipment
•6 key - unassigned
•7 key - Display Firmware hard version
•8 key - TCM BERT test
•9 Release - Reset set/power cycle
